Activity 12.4 Class 10 Science Electricity

Activity 12.4 Class 10 Science Electricity

Brief procedure:

Activity 12.4 asks us to join a few resistors in a series and check the current through the ammeter at different positions.

Reading of ammeter remains constant irrespective of the position.

Activity 12.4 electricityExplanation:

Current is a flow of current. Consider current as a flow of water and resistors as pipes. When we connect different pipes end to end (series) the amount of flow of water remains constant throughout all pipes. Similar things happen to the flow of electrons. When we put different resistors in the end to end position, electrons have only one way to travel across the circuit. An ammeter measures the flow of electrons. As a result, we see the same reading in different positions.

Current in a closed circuit remains the same.
